The St Agnes Hotel has seen several changes of name over the years and several changes of landords. Now it is our turn!
I am a proud Cornishman born in Redruth and brought up on the north coast of Cornwall. I have run a couple of pubs with my wife and partner Nathalie, who is from Guyana in the Caribbean. We now have 2 children, one at school and one at nursery in the village and we have moved back to bring them up the Cornish way.
I am passionate about food and creating dishes which I like to think of ranging from the traditional to the unusual. On the Aggie's menu you will find many traditional pub favourites alongside more unusual dishes based on my days surfing around the world.
You will also find Nathalie's Caribbean influence on the menu and with 2 young children, we like to provide some healthy but realistic dishes for kids too. We will be keeping many popular local drinks and introducing some new ones, including low and no alcohol, to complement our menu.
We have a monthly quiz night on the first Tuesday of the month, organised and run by Pete Mitchell in aid of various local charities and causes. Our Thursday Thali Nights proved popular in the Winter months and during the Summer we will be adding a few more pub events, as well as supporting the traditional village events, all of which we hope you will find fun & enjoy.

You will find the Aggie's new menu contains a range of food from traditional pub dishes to the more unusual, influenced by my travels & Nathalie's Caribbean heritage. The Aggie is very much at the centre of the community, supporting St Agnes' environmental and sustainability ethos and with many groups and clubs using the pub to meet. We also welcome any new interest.
We look forward to welcoming you back or meeting you.

St Agnes is located on the stunning North Cornwall coast, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a World Heritage Site, within easy driving distance of Newquay Airport, Truro, St Ives & Penzance. The village is a lively community and has many amenities.
St Agnes has a fascinating history with its mining and seafaring heritage, there is beautiful dramatic countryside all around, the coast is ideal for all sorts of watersports and nearby there are plenty of places of interest. Making St Agnes the perfect destination for all types of holiday, weekend or short breaks.
There has been an inn on this site since the 17th Century. Later tin mining in the area brought the railway to St Agnes and a need for a commercial hotel.
The Aggie is a traditional lively village pub in the centre of the village directly opposite St Agnes Church. Parts of the pub are quintessentially Cornish with bare stone walls and tiled floors while other parts have a distinctly contemporary feel.
There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy a drink or sample our food, either in the bustling bar or the separate dining room and for the warmer months there is a decking area at the rear of the pub. The pub also has the luxury of 6 ensuite bedrooms and a free car park, providing a great bed & breakfast venue for a relaxing break.
The Aggie serves good quality sensibly priced food. The menu is an eclectic mix of dishes providing food that everyone will enjoy. Created and home cooked using seasonal, sustainable, ethical, local ingredients whenever possible and complemented by a range of local ales, cider and wine.
